  • Community Thanksgiving Service – Location: FBC Elon on Tuesday November 25th at 7:00 pm. Love offering and food collection for Salvation Army.
  • READING DAY AT FBC-ELON:
    • The church will be open to Elon University Students wanting a quiet place to study!
    • 3 pm – 12 pm on Wednesday, December 3.
    • Students can enter the church through the Fellowship Hall doors, located at the back of the church – just look for the signs!
    • Free Wi-Fi, snacks,  pizza, and massages!
  • Upcoming Holiday events:
    • 11/30 – First Sunday of Advent
    • 12/7 – Second Sunday of Advent: Toy In-gathering for OCP.
    • 12/13 – A Christmas Carol Dinner! Saturday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Come enjoy great food prepared by the youth families, and decorated tables that embrace the theme of various Christmas Carol songs chosen by them. This is a very popular event and fund-raiser for our youth. Come earlier to ensure you get to sample a little of everything before it is gone! Donations will be accepted to support our 2015 Summer Youth Mission Trip.
    • 12/14 – Third Sunday of Advent: CBF Global Missions Offering. Also, there will be a Moravian Love Feast at 6:00 pm.
    • 12/21 – Fourth Sunday of Advent: Food collection for the Salvation Army, and church-wide Christmas caroling to shut-ins at 4:00 pm.
    • 12/24 – Christmas Eve Communion Service at 5:00 pm (Food Collection).
  • Advent Devotional: It is designed to begin on Monday, December 1. There are three weeks of devotions (Monday throughFriday), leaving the fourth week (which is only 2 weekdays) open for suggested actions. There is some introductory material about the season that you will want to read on or before the firstSunday of Advent. I hope these messages challenge and encourage everyone! Click HERE to download our Advent devotional. Please also plan to participate in Connections. Connections is an opportunity during the four weeks of Advent to gather for song, prayer, and reflection prior to Sunday School. This brief gathering will help prepare us for the worship service, and offer us a point of connection with our Advent Devotion. Connections will meet in the sanctuary from 9:30 to 9:42.
  • Emergency Boxes for Salvation Army: The Celestial Class collected 11 emergency boxes so far. They will continue to collect through December. If you would like to help fill an emergency box pick up a flyer for items needed in your classroom or in the foyer.
  • New Church Office Hours: The church office will be closed on Fridays. There will be a pastor on call each weekend that will be available if needed. The pastor on call will be listed on the Ministry Events sheet each Sunday for the following weekend.
  • Support the Church’s Budget – EAT! Anna-Maria’s on S. Church Street in Burlington will send donations to our church for all customers presenting a church bulletin when they place an order. A portion of the all bills linked to our church bulletin is sent to the church at the end of each month so enjoy a meal there any day of the week, but don’t forget your bulletin! Each Sunday bulletin is good for that week only.
  • Foushees in Japan! Carson and Laura are in Japan until 2016. Support them with your prayers as they begin this ministry. Donation envelopes are available in the Communications Center if you feel led to support them with a donation. Thank you to all of our members and families who pledged donations for them. Their pledges began in August and will continue throughout Carson and Laura’s ministry in Japan. Follow and keep up with Carson and Laura Foushee while serving on a 3 year mission trip to Japan.
