An honors graduate of Ohio University with a double major in Personnel/ Industrial Relations and Management, Valerie is a Senior Professional in Human Resources, recognized as a certified professional for life.

With over 20 years experience as a Human Resources Professional in the hotel, banking, healthcare, insurance, and scientific manufacturing industries, Valerie is currently the Human Resources Director with Senn Dunn Insurance in Greensboro , NC . A former Visiting Lecturer at North Carolina State University ’s College of Management , she currently serves on the faculty for the Insurance Executive Program at Appalachian State University.

Recognized as the 1998 North Carolina Outstanding Human Resource Professional, Valerie is active in a number of civic and professional organizations including the Society for Human Resource Management, Human Resource Management Association of Greensboro and Raleigh-Wake Human Resource Management Association, of which she is a past chapter president. Past Secretary/Treasurer and Past Director for the NC State SHRM Council and Membership Co-Chair, Valerie also serves on the Boards of Directors for Triad Health Project and the Mental Health Association in Greensboro . Valerie served as Program Co-Chair for the Leadership Greensboro Class of 2008 and was recognized as a 2008 Triad Human Resources Impact Leader.

A native of Cleveland , OH , Valerie moved to North Carolina in 1985, and lives with her husband John and their dog Chili in Greensboro
