Mark has been the pastor of
First Baptist Church of Elon since October of 2001. Before that, Mark
served as Associate Pastor at Melrose Baptist Church in Roanoke, VA.
Mark has a B.A. from the University of Richmond and a M. Div. from Duke
Divinity School. In addition to his work at the church, Mark serves as
the volunteer Baptist campus minister at Elon University and is a
"featured blogger" for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship's
blog. Mark has been married to his wife Amy since 1995. They have
two sons, Justin and Noah. Mark enjoys reading, playing golf, and
playing video games.
Margaret was born in
Hendersonville, NC and received her B.S. in Music Education from
Appalachian State. She has been active in church music in Alamance
County for many years and has served at First Baptist Church of Elon for
25 years. Margaret's responsibilities cover all areas of the Music
Ministry here at FBC. Margaret is married to Gary Miller and has two
children: Jason, who lives in Indiana, and Kristin, who lives in
Greensboro, NC. Margaret enjoys all things musical, reading a good book
and spending time with her family.
David has been serving at
First Baptist Church of Elon since May of 2000. Initially, David served
as part-time youth minister while he completed his Masters of Divinity
from Campbell University Divinity School. In 2004, David was hired
full-time as Associate Pastor, with primary responsibilities focusing on
the youth, senior adults, and education ministries of the church. David
received his B.A. from UNC-Wilmington in 2000. David is happily married
to his high school sweetheart, Jennifer, since August of 2000. They
have two sons, Samuel and Luke. David enjoys
spending time with his family, watching any sports event, playing golf,
and reading.
First Baptist Church of Elon is
located near Elon University and Elon Elementary School on Haggard
Avenue.
From Interstate 40, take exit 140
for University Drive. If coming from Greensboro, turn left off of
the exit. If coming from Durham & Hillsborough, turn right.
Follow University Drive until you
cross train tracks and come to a stop sign. Turn right at the stop
sign onto Haggard Ave.
Follow Haggard Ave. through
the campus of Elon University and past Elon Elementary on the left.
The church is about a block past Elon Elementary on the right side of
the road.
